How the Media Film Festival Picks the Winners

 Media Film Festival

April 5, 6 and 7

 at the Historic Media Theatre
Media, PA.

There is a committee of 15 and growing volunteers that watch the films and also contribute to the success of the film festival each year. Not everyone chooses to watch the horror films. The films are watched independently and without bias or opinion or suggestion from other viewers. Only after, you have answered the questions and submitted your answers are you able to see the other reviewers answers. That is one of the more interesting parts to me, the different opinions of the same film. Once all films have been sent in and the deadline for submissions has passed, the committee holds a "judgement night", where all the tallied votes are revealed.

Through the efforts of this committee you will be able to see a wide variety of films in several genres, drama, comedy, documentary, animation and a special late night horror session on Friday. Coming back again this year will be a "Live Read" of "The Princess Bride", on Saturday afternoon at 3:30p.m. Also a Q and A with some of the filmmakers is an added feature this year.  If you attended last year, you know how much fun a "live read" is to watch. Hollywood actors Jessica Barth and Micah Hauptman, along with local players will once again grace the stage for this fun event. If you missed this event last year, the Media Film Festival Committee is giving out second chances to witness the fun. Check out the new Media Film Festival website for all the details.

One lucky filmmaker will go home with the "Golden Trolley" for Best Film overall. Prizes will also be awarded in each category, drama, comedy, documentary, animation and horror.

It is an exciting line up! Each night provides a special treat.
