A prominent spot outside the Kentucky Derby Museum marks the remains of  the 2006 Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro. One of Pennsylvania's own and one of the saddest stories of the Triple Crown Races. I think every one was rooting for his recovery.

For the Kentucky Derby, jockeys should weigh no more than or less than 126 pounds including tack and saddle. The weigh requirement for riders of fillies  is 121lbs.  The average jockey weighs between 108 and 114 lbs.

Some people place their bets on favorite riders, here are a few of the more popular ones throughout history.
