April 8 Opening Day of Baseball for Many Local Little Leagues

🌸April 8 Subaru Cherry Blossom 5K and 10K run and walk at Fairmount Park Horticulture Center and enjoy the blossoming views along the way. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. race begin 7:30 a.m. Check the link for other Subaru events on the 8th.

April 8 Philly 10th Annual Spring Cleanup, check locations.

April 8 A Inaugural World War I remembrance will be held at Courtroom 1 of the Delaware County Courthouse 9 a.m. sponsored by Destination Delco and Delaware county Council

🐶April 8 Delaware County Council and Delaware County Kennel Club will sponsor a dog license and microchip clinic at Rose Tree Park 9 a.m. to noon.  

April 8 Craft Show to benefit the Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired to be held at the Salvation Army 151 w. 15th Street, Chester 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.


  
April 8 Chester Creek Trail Ribbon Cutting Opening Ceremony 11 a.m. at Mile Marker 1.5.

🚴April 8 Opening Day for Rail to Trails "Triple Play" starts in Phoenixville. Explore Schuylkill, Audubon and Perkiomen trails with the Philadelphia Bicycle Coalition. Free to members and $35 for a yearly membership.

April 8 Break a Guinness Book World Record for the longest fist bump relay. 2 - 3:30 p.m. at Penn Treaty Park.

🎖April 8 U.S. Colored Troops (U.S.C.T.) Living History Encampment at Fort Ward Museum and Historic Site in Alexandria Virginia. 1 - 4 p.m.

April 8 Doo Dah Parade in Ocean City, New Jersey. 12 p.m.



🎖April 8 Screening of "Memories of the Great War Stories of the Great War from four inspirational people from our area. Doors open at the lobby of the Lansdowne Theater at 11:30 in the Vinyl Revival screening room adjacent to the theater. There will be three showings of the series “Memories of the Great War” at 11:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m.,1:45 p.m. Inside the Lansdowne Theater Lobby will be a replica of a World War 1 Salvation Army Soldiers Aid Station with living historians dressed in authentic reproduction garments. Poppy seed packets will be given out by Destination Delco for sowing in early May. Authentic Salvation Army Donuts, coffee tea and lemonade will be served until the event's end at 3 p.m.


April 8 The Show About Baseball and Taxes. It is April and that can only mean two things: 1) It is time for baseball when the boys of summer take the field with all the hope and drama that only baseball can deliver, and, 2) It is time once again to pay the tax man. Three vintage Old Time Radio Dramas, performed live with original music and foley sound effects. Come and experience the wonder of live radio drama transcribed and performed as originally broadcast. This performance features The Bickersons- The Tax Refund; Front Page Drama- Nine Striking Beauties and; The Adventures of Ellery Queen- World Series Crime 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Powell House 244 S. 3rd St, in Philadelphia.

🌸April 9 Sakura Sunday takes place on the grounds of the Horticultural Center and at Shofuso in Fairmount Park.


🔮April 9 New Age Holistic Expo at the Media Theatre noon to 6 p.m. Psychics, Chakra Healing, crystal jewelry, and essential oils.

🎖April 9 WWI: The War to End War presented by Roger Arthur 2 p.m. at Middletown Free Library. Registration is required.

🛋 April 9 Flea Market at DCCC 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

April 9 ARC of Delco will hold a Sibling Dinner 4 - 8 p.m.at Springhaven Club in Wallingford for those with special needs and their siblings.

April 9 Delaware County Veterans Memorial will hold a special flying of seven Irish American veterans' casket flags. Honored veterans U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Joseph M. Kane, Marines Lance Cpl.  Charles F. McGrath; Navy Seaman 1st Class John L. Dorsey; Army Sgt. Robert J. Buchanan; Army MP Thomas M. Sherlock; Air Force Captain. James J. McLaughlin; and Army 1st Class Lt. Donald P. McCabe.
