Upcoming Events This Week Starting Mar. 8

Media UP Library accepting donations of books, dvd's cd's and puzzles and games for their upcoming book sale April 22-24.

Free Greeting Cards at the Aston Public Library in the library's Research Books area.  If you have cards to donate, see staff at the Customer Service Desk.

Mar. 8 - May 24 Drawing Course at Aston Community Center 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays. The instructor will be Anne Dempsy. All skill levels. Pre-registration is required. Cost $65. For information and registration call Lori 484.496.2138.

Mar. 8 Women's History Month speaker series at Brandywine River Museum of Art Associate Curator Amanda Burdan will focus on Mar. 8, Georgia O'Keefe; March 15, Doris Lee; Mar. 22, Grandma Moses. Tickets $35 for the series ($25 for members) Individual lectures $15 ($10 members).

Mar. 8 Barnes Foundation Lecture with guest curator Judith Tannenbaum at Hill-Physick House 321 S. Fourth Street at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free but please RSVP to of the Crowd: The Contemporary Art of Flanerie. Learn more about this Philadelphia-wide exhibition, including the work of international artist Jenny Holzer whose Truisms are currently featured outside the Hill-Physick House.

Mar 8 Duffy’s Cut: Dark Local History Revealed. Listen to Immaculata Professor, William Watson, tell the tale of Duffy's Cut - a mass burial site on the Main Line for fifty-seven Irish immigrants who died during the cholera epidemic of 1832.  Archival and archeological research conducted over a decade has revealed the tragic lives and deaths of these Irish immigrant railroaders. 7 p.m. in the Community Room at Haverford Township Library.
Mar. 9 Media Film Festival is coming in April preview the Best of Previous Year's Films 6:30 p.m. at Middletown Free Library.

Mar. 10 The League of Women Voters Delaware County to host  a Hot Topics luncheon at the Community Room of Media Borough Hall , topic Behavioral/Mental health Services in Delaware County, Access and Availability.
