Congratulations to Mr. Bob Dylan, one of my favorite singer, songwriters. He won the 2016 Nobel Prize in Literature, October 13.

October 15 Philly's  Cheesesteak and Food Fest at Citizen's Bank Park 12:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. 

October 15 1696 Thomas Massey House Harvest Day Festival from 11 a.m to 4 p.m. Lawrence and Springhouse Roads, Broomall, PA .Experience early American craft demonstrations at the historic 1696 Thomas Massey House located at Lawrence and Springhouse Rd. Broomall. Learn how to churn butter and make candles. See a working blacksmith shop, and enjoy the delicious aroma from the walk-in cooking fireplace. Enjoy the music of The Marple Newtown Community Band. Children's activities will include pumpkin painting, colonial games, stenciling and face painting. Revolutionary War re-enactors from the Sons of the American Revolution will do a flag raising ceremony at 11 AM. The culture, customs and the daily work of colonial life will be brought to life by period re-enactors. Stroll the lawn of the Marple Christian Church craft sale, located next to the historic site, where over 20 vendors will provide a variety of arts and crafts for sale. October 16 The 30th Annual Aids Walk/Run Philly starts and ends at Eakins OvalRegistration begins at 6:30 a.m.
On-line registration for AIDS Walk/Run Philly is easy – and walkers and runners can get their friends to donate right on their personalized page. Registering at www.aidswalkphilly.org provides a link to download a sponsor form. This sponsor form is used to sign up sponsors. Each participant is requested to make a commitment to raise at least $50, for which they will receive an AIDS Walk/Run Philly t-shirt. Participants who raise $250 will receive AIDS Walk/Run Philly sunglasses and a t-shirt. A Limited Edition “500 Club” hoodie sweatshirt is given to those who raise $500. Raise $1,000 and receive a distinctive AIDS Walk Philly 2016 jacket. Free rapid HIV tests will be provided on-site at AIDS Walk Philly. Find out your status in only 20 minutes.

October 22 Run the Williamson campus 5K/1 Mile Walk Cost for the run $25 with prizes.

October 22 St. Robert's All Class Reunion events include a tour of the old school now Drexel-Neuman Academy at 2 p.m. Mass at 4 p.m. at St. Katherine Drexel Church the former St. Robert's and an alumni social event 5:30p.m. at Neuman University's Mirenda Center. Tickets $35 must be purchased in advance and can be ordered at strobertsallclass.com. All proceeds benefit St. Katharine Drexel Church and Drexel Neuman Academy additional information can be found at St. Robert's All-Class Reunion on Facebook. Ticket sales end October 10.
