Upcoming weekend Events August 26-28

August 26 Dedication of the Arctic Explorer Elisha Kent Kane Historical marker at Laurel Hill Cemetery. 1 p.m. RSVP is required. As a local link, the 1785 National Registry of Historical Places,Thomas Leiper House still in existence in Nether Providence is open to visitors Saturday and Sunday 1 - 4 p.m. through November.  Thomas Leiper was the grandfather of Elisha Kane.

August 26 Smooth Summer Jazz at the Great Plaza Penn's Landing with Peabo Bryson. Arrive at 7, concert begins at 7:30 p.m. 

August 27 One Day in Chester Arts Festival


August 27 Sounds of Inspiration, Praise in the Park at Great Plaza, Penn's Landing.

August 28 Super Flea Market at Delaware County Community College. 8 a.m. to 3 p.m raindate 9/4.

August 28 Belmont Plateau Hall of Fame Classic Run/Walk 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

August 28 Hike with the Sierra Club 1:15 p.m. at Mineral Hill in Middletown Township. Park at the Middletown Memorial Park on the north side of Baltimore Pike just west of Ridley Creek 1.5 easy miles. Contact: wbrainerd3@gmail.com.

August 28 Concord Historical Society Museum is open 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.Virginia Merion DeNenno History and Educational Center is located at 659 Smithbridge Road, Glen Mills. 

Parks on Tap will be at Paines Park this weekend. 

10/11/2016 is the last day to register for the 11/08/2016 election.
