August 23  Concert By Candlelight at Laurel Hill Mansion in East Fairmount Park "Allen Krantz" guitar. Concerts begin at 6:30 p.m.  Tickets can be purchased at www.laurelhillmansion.by using Pay Pal, by calling 215-643-7923 or emailing bfrankl433@comcast.net.

August 23 Movie Night in Broomall "Inside Out" will be shown in he parking lot of host Crozer Keystone 30 Lawrence Road 8 p.m. Free.

August 24 Tune in to Historic Insights by author/historian Gene Pisasale Living History WCHE AM 1520 at 1 p.m. when he interviews, Anne Venzon, Professor of history, American Public University. Listen on the radio AM 1520 or on the Internet at www.wche1520.com (click "listen Live"). Shows are recorded and are later available on the WCHR website under "Podcasts" and on www.GenePisasale.com. 

The National Park Service turns 100 on August 25, 2016

August 25 – U.S. President Woodrow Wilson signs legislation creating the National Park Service.

 I tip my hat to these people.  I never met a ranger I didn't like or that didn't love their job at the National Park Service.

August 26 Dedication of the Arctic Explorer Elisha Kent Kane Historical marker at Laurel Hill Cemetery. 1 p.m. RSVP is required. As a local link, the 1785 National Registry of Historical Places,Thomas Leiper House still in existence in Nether Providence is open to visitors Saturday and Sunday 1 - 4 p.m. through November.  Thomas Leiper was the grandfather of Elisha Kane.

August 27 One Day in Chester Arts Festival

August 27 Rep. Kruger-Braneky Back to School Family Day 

August 28 Super Flea market at Delaware County Community College. 8 a.m. to 3 p.m raindate 9/4.

September 3 - 4 Made in America concert on Ben Franklin Parkway

September 3 ChesterFest on the grounds of Talen Energy Soccer Stadium, former PPL.
