Additional Weekend Events thru August 21

August 19 - 21 America's 15th Annual 911 Ride click on the link to find start and stop locations.  Motorcyclists will be traveling from Somerset, PA, Flight 93 Memorial, to the Pentagon in Arlington, VA and World Trade Center in NYC to honor the victims. Normally the sound of a motorcycle weaving in and out of traffic can cause a disturbance, until you witness this, their thunder will give you chills. Pay respect if you happen to spot them on the road. It's something.
 

August 19 Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Sullivan's Bridge a new pedestrian and bike trail bridge, 10:30 a.m. Details.

August 19 Tall Ship Party on the Gazela 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. to benefit the Chester Historical Preservation.

August 20 Festival of India at the Great Plaza Penn’s Landing 1 p.m. - 6 p.m.


August 20 Moonlight Kayak Tour 8 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. starts at Walnut Street Dock on the Schuylkill River.  


August 20 Pirate Day at Ft. Mifflin 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

August 20 Bike Ride from Bartram Gardens to Heinz Wildlife Refuge with the Philadelphia Bicycle Coalition.


August 20  East Fairmount Park Public Art Bike Tour 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Meet at the Oval's Fairmount Park Launch (western end adjacent to Warby Parker bus). This is where the tour will begin and end.


August 21 11th Annual Chester Community Fair at the center 501 Yarnall St. in Chester. 2 - 6 p.m.

August 21 Caribbean Festival Noon to 8 pm. at the Delaware River Waterfront, Penns Landing.

August 21 Bugs and Butterflies Festival at Tyler Arboretum 10 a.m to 2 p.m. 


August 21 is the Last Day of the Oval on Ben Franklin Parkway. A map of "50 Unique Experiences in Fairmount Park" will be available at the info booth. You can also get a copy by mail with a $35 membership or higher level to the Fairmount Park Conservancy.

Parks on Tap will be at Penn Treaty Park this weekend. 

Register for the September 9 - 11 Red White and Brew Run in the Brandywine Valley. Take part in One Main Street Mile or 5K Run, Half Marathon or all three.
