June 17 Party on the Porch at the 1785 Thomas Leiper House located at 521 Avondale Road in Wallingford, PA. Annual summer open house 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. You can also visit the NRHP Leiper House on Saturday and Sunday afternoons
1 p.m.- 4 p.m.

June 17 37th Annual Media 5-Mile Race at 7 p.m. Unfortunately this registration is closed but there is still plenty of room on State Street in Media to cheer on the runners. The kids free run starts at 6 p.m. at the baseball field with  prep at 5:30 p.m. 

June 17 The First Father's Day was celebrated on June 17, 1910. This year it falls on June 19.

June 18 Overdose Awareness Vigil Upper Chichester Recreation Center 6 p.m


June 18 Father’s Day Weekend Operating since 1915, the Essington Seaplane Base is one of the oldest operating seaplane bases in the world. You can see seaplanes flying in, weather permitting, on Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m at Lazaretto, Essington, PA. More information at www.phillyseaplanebase.com.
 
June 18 You are cordially invited to attend a Restoration Fundraiser on Saturday  from 10 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  Tour the former Third Presbyterian Church building at 420 E. 9th Street, Chester, PA. Feel the history under your feet. This was where the first vacation Bible school in the United States started. A $25.00 tax deductible donation with help raise funds to restore the building. The Chester Historical Preservation Committee has saved the building from demolition and is currently raising funds to restore it. Refreshments will feature ice cream from Shane Confectionery. At the time of undocking, Expedition 48 will begin aboard the station under Williams’ command. Williams and his crewmates Oleg Skripochka and Alexey Ovchinin of Roscosmos, will operate the station for three weeks until the arrival of three new crew members.
NASA astronaut Kate Rubins, Russian cosmonaut Anatoly Ivanishin and Takuya Onishi of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency are scheduled to launch July 6 (Eastern time) from Baikonur, Kazakhstan.
