A special salute to Delcolibraries.org on National Library Week. So much goes on within the community through our libraries.

April 16 - 24 is National Park Week enjoy for free this week! This year is the 100th Anniversary of our National Parks. We all have favorites due to certain special characteristic but that special bond is the great outdoors and of course the special buildings located within some of them.

April 16 - Newlin Grist Mill Public Archaeology Day 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. ; Spring Nature Walk. 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

April 16 Photography Walk at Heinz Wildlife Refuge. Meet at the Route 420 parking lot 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

April 16 Cheyney C Club 5K Run/Walk and Health Education Fair at O'Shields Stevenson Stadium 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

April 16 2nd Annual Spring Massive Barn Market 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. sponsored by Chadds Ford Historical Society and Brandywine View Antiques. 1736 Creek Road/RT 100, Chadds Ford, PA.

April 16 Chocolate Making Workshop at the Morgan Log House in Lansdale, PA.

April 16 Science Night at the Ballpark, at Citizens Bank Park during the 7:05 p.m. ball game.

April 17 This Place Matters, Historic Places in the State of Delaware , Speaker Madeline Dunn at the Hales Byrnes, the series begins with the Dickinson Plantation, Kitts Hummock 4 - 6 p.m. Location 606 Stanton-Christiana Road, Newark, DE. Tickets $5 at the door.

April 22 - June 12 Franklin Square is celebrating its 10th Birthday this year, and to kick off the special festivities, Historic Philadelphia, Inc. will host the Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival in Franklin Square from April 22 – June 12. This is BIG. Like, 200-foot-long-dragon-made-of-lights BIG.

BIG CLIMB on April 23 to benefit Leukemia and Lymphoma research. Climb one of the tallest buildings in Philadelphia, the Comcast Building.







April 30 Rockin’ With The Troops: A USO Show
USOFlyer1Rockin' With The Troops: USO Show, where bands play the historical classics while commemorating our veterans. The setlist features singers and groups such as the Legendary Bobby Rydell, the Original Tymes, the First Ladies of Rock and Soul, and impersonator Lynn "Wyn" Roberts playing Bob Hope, Jack Benny, and Red Skelton. Your support to this event fuels DCHS programs that educate Delaware County about the service and sacrifice of veterans.This event is dedicated to our veterans such as Dennis Murphy, John Walker, and Joe Daly.
Information: 7 - 10 p.m. Door open at 6 p.m. at Neumann University: Mirenda Center, Convent Road, Aston, PA 19014. $65 per person.
