April 11 Colonial Plantation presents Murrain Pox and Pestilence: Diseases that Changed History at the Middletown Free Library 2 p.m. Check the library website for further details and other upcoming library events this month

April 11 Philadelphia Phillies opening day 3:05 p.m vs San Diego. Look for the baseball caps. Kane Kalas song of famed Phillies sports announcer Harry Kalas will sing the National Anthem.

April 11 and 12 Jackie Robinson, a Ken Burns Production on WHYY 9 p.m.

April 13 Newtown Square Historical Society presents The Unknown Martha Washington with Dr. Nancy Loane a former NPS Ranger at Valley Forge National Park.  She will speak about the Martha Washington we may not have heard abut n the history book. Dr. Loane is the author of Following the Dream:Following the Drum: Women at the Valley Forge Encampment, the recipient of  the American Revolution Round Table of Philadelphia’s Outstanding Book Award.  Dr. Loane, has participated in four archaeological digs at Valley Forge National Historical Park, is a board member of The Friends of Valley Forge Park and an honorary life-time member of the Society of the Descendants of Washington’s Army at Valley Forge. The program is at Dunwoody Village and begins at 7 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

April 13 An Armchair Tour of Crum Creek Woods sponsored by the Nether Providence Historical Society at the Helen Kate Furness Library 7:30 p.m. Mike Rolli of Swarthmore College will lead the virtual walk through the woods.
