January 11 Delaware County Institute of Science 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Researching the Process Writing Women Back Into STEM”. Professor Geremea Fioravanti of Harrisburg Area Community College will summarize his sabbatical research elucidating participation of women in science, with focus on contributions of Kaye Barr to DCIS, particularly its remarkable collection of marine mollusk shells.

January 16 The Colonial Plantation will be open for a Winter Experience with farm tours, animal talks and house tours also an opportunity to make soap. Admission Adults $8 Senior Citizens and Children $6.

January 16 Paper Marbling Workshop. Learn to create marbled paper in Historic Sugartown’s Bindery! Marbling is the art of floating and designing water colors on a base fluid then permanently transferring the design to paper. Colonial Williamsburg-trained instructor, Ramon Townsend of Colonial Bindery.com, will lead the class through the entire marbling process. Participants will take home their finished papers.Workshop Admission: $65/Adult, $35/Child (Ages 5 – 17). All supplies included. The workshop will take place from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m..
