December 8 and 9 (Tuesday and Wednesday in December) Twilight Tours of Éleuthère Irénée du Pont home at Hagley Tours are on the half-hour beginning at 4:30, with the last tour leaving the Visitor Center at 8 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (302) 658-2400, ext. 261. A limited number of tickets will be sold for each tour. Admission is free for members and $10 for guests.
December 10 Special Live Performance of A Christmas Carol 1:00 p.m. and 6 p.m. at Copeland Lecture Hall performed by Gerald Dickens, renowned actor and great great grandson of Charles Dickens at Winterthur. December 10 Hosted by Franklin Institute Chief Astronomer Derrick Pitts, Night Skies in the Observatory is a monthly stargazing event held in the Joel N. Bloom Observatory. View celestial objects in the night sky, including stars, planets, nebulae, and if conditions are right, a galaxy or two, from 5 different rooftop telescopes in the Observatory. The evening includes a Fels Planetarium show and a lecture or presentation (appropriate for ages 8 and up) on an astronomical or space science topic. The Observatory is staffed with knowledgeable observers and free star maps are provided. This event runs from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. Night Skies in the Observatory $5.00 Per Person, Free for Members.

December 11 and 12 Chester Children's Chorus to perform at Lang Concert Hall on the campus of Swarthmore College at 7:30 p.m. Seating is limited to the first 425 guests. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.
December 12 Get into the holiday spirit by celebrating the
legendary Charles Dickens and learn his influence on how we celebrate
Christmas today, as well as enjoying an outstanding one-man show
performance of his holiday classic A Christmas Carol, Stephen Anderson,
will perform Bah, Humbug: Inside a Dickens Classic. Registration is required.
