Upcoming Events starting November 11

November 11 Veterans Day Parade on State Street in downtown Media at 11 a.m. on State Street. Come out and support our veterans in one of the countries BEST Veterans Day Parades.

November 12 ATHS welcomes Mr. Jack McKeown. Mr. McKeown will speak on the history of the fire companies in the area.  He has also published a book, "Middletown Car 1 Responding".  Jack has served as Fire Marshall in Middletown for over 36 years and has a lot of history to share with the audience.  There will be an opportunity to purchase his book along with time for questions and answers 7 p.m.

November 12 Middletown Free Library "The Lenape (“Delaware”) of Pennsylvania: Indians as Part of the Colonial Economy" Presentation by Marshall Becker at 6 p.m.

November 12 – December 31 Franklin Square Holiday Festival This season, experience the magic of the holiday and celebrate traditions new and old at the Franklin Square Holiday Festival. Dazzle in the lights of the Electrical Spectacle: A Holiday Light Show, warm up with comfort food, local beers, and hot beverages at Ben’s Bites and Brews and shop for handmade gifts at the Holiday Market. Celebrate the holiday season with Santa Saturdays, Food Truck Fridays, Seasonal Sounds on Sundays, Kids’ Kraftivity Hours, Lightning Bolt Holiday Express train rides around the Square, daily 4:30 - 8 p.m. Friday and  Saturday until 9 p.m.and the traditional family-friendly Kids’ New Year’s Eve Countdown and Dance Party.

November 12 Night Skies in the Observatory is a monthly stargazing event held in the Joel N. Bloom Observatory hosted by Franklin Institute Chief Astronomer Derrick Pitts, View celestial objects in the night sky, including stars, planets, nebulae, and if conditions are right, a galaxy or two, from 5 different rooftop telescopes in the Observatory. The evening includes a Fels Planetarium show and a lecture or presentation (appropriate for ages 8 and up) on an astronomical or space science topic. The Observatory is staffed with knowledgeable observers and free star maps are provided. This event runs from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. Night Skies in the Observatory $5.00 Per Person, Free for Members.
