Upcoming Weekend Events September 11-13

September 11 Prayers to all the victims and their families at the World Trade Center, Somerset Field in Pennsylvania, the Pentagon and to all senseless acts of terrorism.






September 11 NASA LiveTV to Broadcast Return of Space Station Crew. Coverage begins at 1:45 p.m. Eastern Time. Scott Kelly of the United States will take over command of the Intentional Space Station. Astronauts from 5 different countries are up there and getting along.  That feat alone is something to investigate and discover how we can bring that phenomenon back to earth. If you get a chance check out NASATV it is interesting to watch.

September 12 Pumpkinland at LInvilla opens Today!


September 12 Walk or run the scenic cliff paths of the Boxers’ Trail in East Fairmount Park where heavyweight boxing champion Joe Frazier trained. Proceeds from the Boxers’ Trail 5K benefit East Fairmount Park and Mander Recreation Center, which organizes youth programs, including runs along the Boxers’ Trail. 9:30 a.m. $20 for walkers / $25 for runners (includes a t-shirt). Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and the race begins at 9:30 a.m.

September 12  "Show Us Your Shoes" Miss America parade on the ATlantic City Boardwalk.

September 12 Phoenixville Blues Festival.

September 12 The Drum Circle at the Parastudy 354 Valleybrook Rd., Chester Heights, PA. 7:30 p.m.- 9:00 p.m.

September 12 The Players Club of Swarthmore will celebrate the opening of their 105th season at 6 p.m. The event will feature a combined PCS and YPTW cabaret and include food. Tickets $25 online or in advance, $30 at the door.

September 13 Fall Super Sunday in downtown Media on State Street.


September 13 Veterans Parade in Brookhaven for Korean and Vietnam Veterans at 12:00 noon. The route will begin at Christian Academy, past Coebourn Elementary School and finish at Brookhaven Borough Hall, where a ceremony will take place after the parade concludes. 

September 13 Do It 4 The Dogs, at Crossfit Inspire an event to benefit Main Line Animal Rescue. 11:30am - 1:00 p.m. at Crossfit Inspire 446 Lancaster Avenue in Frazer. Featuring a Special Hero WOD (workout of the day)Ambassador Dogs from Mainline Animal Rescue and Meet and Greet K9 Heroes from Search and Rescue Dogs of Pennsylvania. 

September 13 Miss America at 9 p.m. on ABC.

MFF (Media Film Festival) is now accepting submissions for the 9th annual Media Film Festival, to be held April of 2016.  The early bird deadline is September 15th, and the regular submission deadline is December 15th. 


October 3 and 4 Bike MS City to Shore Ride Fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis. Register now for only $75! The registration fee increases to $100 on September 18. Mandatory bike inspections are available at sponsoring bike shops August 22-September 30 and at Group Riding Skills courses in September.
