8. December 7 Washington Crossing the Delaware "Dress Rehearsal" at Washington Crossing Historic Park Park. The Crossing ceremony begins at approximately 1 p.m. The cost to attend the dress rehearsal is $8 for adults, $4 for children age five to 11, and free for those under age five. Proceeds support future programs. The official re-enactment takes place on December 25. I have heard it from the highest authority that December 25th despite it being another prominent holiday is packed with people.  The "dress rehearsal" is typically less crowded and the same things happen.  The only difference is the "official" date. There is a slight possibility that weather could hamper either event, so if you have an interest check the website for possible cancellation. George Washington and troops, walking down the streets of New Hope a few years back, told me about these events.  We had a chance meeting in an ice cream store the night of their rehearsal.
