Top 10 New Year Events To Do

December 31 New Year's Eve with the Philadelphia Orchestra 7:30 p.m. at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia.

December 31,Wish Betsy Ross a Very Happy Birthday! 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Betsy's birthday is just around the corner, and to celebrate, she's throwing an end of year Birthday Bash at the Betsy Ross House! Wednesday, December 31, wish America's most iconic flag maker a happy 263rd birthday with festive, family-friendly activities and cupcakes, provided by the historic City Tavern. Best of all, Betsy's Birthday Bash activities are FREE! Tickets required to tour the House.

December 31, 2014 Family New Year's Eve Fireworks Ring in the new year with Independence Seaport Museum's annual family fun celebration! The Family New Year's Eve Fireworks includes a prime viewing of fireworks erupting over the Delaware River. Festive hats, noisemakers and sparkling cider to "toast" the coming New Year will be provided.  Additionally hop over to Nesquik's Bunnyland to play games, win prizes, drink delicious chocolate milk and meet Quiky, the bunny ! Time: 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.The Seaport Museum will stay open late so visitors can enjoy the holiday party. The Family New Year's Eve Party is included with regular Museum admission. Everything is while supplies last.

December 31 Have a Blast Aboard the Battleship New Jersey for dinner or just to view the fireworks on the Delaware River waterfront.

December 31 New Year's Eve Splash at the Adventure Aquarium in Camden. Advanced Tickets are required.

December 31 New Year's Eve Party on Ice at the Blue Cross River Rink Winterfest.  The first party is  5 – 8 pm to coincide with the 6 pm fireworks, with a second party from 10 pm – 1 a.m. timed to enjoy the traditional midnight fireworks.

Outdoor Free Event - Snow or Shine - State & Jackson Streets. Come ring in the new year with us! Live Entertainment by Philly Gumbo at 11 p.m.Ball Drop at Midnight. Family event earlier in the evening 4 - 7 p.m. includes a set dinner, sundae bar, apple juice toast, dancing, karaoke and new this year, a PHOTO BOOTH! Space is limited and tickets are selling fast! Tickets $20 for all ages 1 and up at Front Street Fountain in Media.

December 31 Watch the Ball Drop at Times Square in New York City has been on my bucket list for like forever.  Finally I am able to step aside and leave all that fun to the younger generation.  It looks like a grand time. I will just wave back at you through the television screen.

January 1 Mummers on New Year's Day!  The only place on earth you can see this parade is Philadelphia, PA or your television set. It is an "at least once in your lifetime event" if not a family tradition.
