Top 10 Born in Baltimore

If your team is not in the Super Bowl do you boycott or find a reason to root for another team? So, I went on the search. These people were either born or grew up in the Baltimore area.

As you know, The Baltimore "Ravens" are named after the work of one of Baltimore's most famous residents, Edgar Allan Poe's famed poem, The Raven. It also boasts of many other personalities that have lived in the area, including those that can sing, dance, act and all around entertain.

1. John Astin " Gomez" from the Adams Family television show was born in Baltimore, graduated from John Hopkins and is currently teaching method acting and directing in the Theater Arts and Studies Department at Johns Hopkins University.

2. David Byrne of the Talking Heads born in Scotland, moved to Baltimore around 8 years old. "Once in a Lifetime".

3. Cab Calloway Zaz Zuh Zaz was born in New York and moved to Maryland as a child...can you say scat............ He attended Lincoln University and Crane College and was taught scat by Louis Armstrong. He was a jazz singer and bandleader and a regular at the Cotton Club in Harlem, New York.  He appeared in various movies including an impressive guest spot in The Blues Brothers.

4. Cass Elliott of the Mamas and Pappas, a possible conflict of interest with California Dreamin except of course if California is dreamin they will bet the Baltimore Ravens but of course we will know on Monday, Monday.

5. Billie Holiday All or Nothing at All.

6.Greg Kihn "The Breakup Song", they don't write em like that anymore.

7.Animal Collective Brother Sport.

8. Frank Zappa "Don't Eat the Yellow Snow".

9. Adam Duritz of the Counting Crows "Colorblind".

The Baltimore area has produced musicians, actors and actresses, civil war heroes (on both sides), civil rights activists, politicians, writers, poets, astronauts, and sport stand outs in just about every sport

The Baltimore Ravens were established in Baltimore in 1996 when the then owner Art Model moved the former Cleveland Browns franchise.  The Ravens have experienced great success in their brief history, making the playoffs nine times since 2000, with one Super Bowl victory (Super Bowl XXXV following the 2000 season), four AFC North division titles (2003, 2006, 2011 and 2012) and two AFC Championship titles (2000 and 2012). The Ravens are owned by Steve Bisciotti and valued at $1.09 billion, making the team the 18th-most valuable sports franchise in the world. (wiki says)

LaQuan Williams currently a wide receiver for the Baltimore Ravens was born in Baltimore.  I am sure he would love to bring it on home.  He is currently listed on the injured/reserve list.  Ray Lewis has been with the team since its inception. He plans to retire after this season.
